Amazing Egg and Cheese on a Plain Bagel

Egg and Cheese on a Plain Bagel

I woke up one morning at 6:14am and wanted to make breakfast. I decided I wanted to make Eggs in a Basket but I couldn’t find the right type of bread. I found bagels so I decided to take out three eggs, three slices of cheese and three bagels halves to make enough for both my parents and myself. It only took about 15 minutes. This recipe makes enough for three people.

Ingredients

  • 3 bagel halves (I used Thomas’s Bagels)
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 slices of cheddar cheese
  • clarified butter

Preparation

Heat the frying pan to medium and add a tablespoon of clarified butter. (I like to use clarified butter because it doesn’t burn as easily when you cook with it.) Crack three eggs over the pan. Be careful not to let them touch. Once the eggs are fully cooked, move them to a plate. I like to leave them a little runny. Toast the bagels by adding a little more butter to the pan if needed and place the bagels in the pan. Toast both sides. Place a slice of cheese on the cut side of each bagel, then an egg. Cover the pan with a lid until the cheese melts. Put each bagel on individual plates and serve!
