I don’t know about you, but I love a good tuna melt. There’s just something about the combination of tuna, cheese, and mayo that is so satisfying. I recently tried making my own, and I think I found my new favorite recipe. It’s really easy and quick to make. It calls for one can of tuna, one stick of chopped celery, and two tablespoons of mayonnaise. Plus, cheese of course. I used cheddar, but you could really use whatever type of cheese you like. Mix everything together and then spoon the mixture onto the crackers. toast and enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 can of tuna
- 1 stick of celery chopped
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- some salt and pepper
- a few drops of lemon juce
- 8 saltine crackers
- dill pickle relish (optional)
Preparation
Combine tuna, mayo, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and celery in a bowl. Stir it well so everything is well blended. Arrange the crackers side by side on a small baking tray without leaving any space between them. Spread the tuna salad mixture onto the crackers. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top of the tuna. Toast in the toaster oven until the cheese melts. If you want, you can sprinkle some dill pickle relish on top before serving. BAM! You’re done.
This is such a great and creative idea!
