Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

I got this recipe from a website called Cooking Classy. I added the chocolate chips to the recipe. I made these cookies for my dad’s birthday because he loves peanut butter and chocolate. They are delicious. It was fun to press them out with a fork.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • a handful of chocolate chips

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two 18 by 13-inch baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined with an electric mixer.
  4. Mix in peanut butter then blend in egg and vanilla. With mixer set on low speed slowly add in flour mixture and mix just until combined.
  5. Add a handful of chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop dough out and shape into balls then place on baking sheets 2-inches apart.
  7. Use a fork to flatten each dough ball.
  8. Bake cookies in preheated oven, one sheet at a time, for about 9 minutes (It’s ok if they look pale. They’ll keep cooking while they cool).
  9. Let cool on baking sheet 5 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. This is important because they break if you take them off the baking sheet too soon.

BAM! YOU’RE DONE!
